Appalachian Mountain Dulcimers
Building these again after a long break, simple, expressive instruments that are easy to play for the beginner and challenging to master for the seasoned player. Light and resonant, with 1/2" string spacing for fingerstyle playing.
I am offering a 3 Stringed Dulcimer based on the slightly expanded shape of my Thomas style Dulcimer, now with a 28.5" scale well suited for fingerstyle playing, the example shown is made of oak and spruce but other timbers available to order, a Custom model with Chromatic Fretboard also shown. I am also now offering Modern Gotoh Tuners and a guitar style head option as an easier alternative to the traditional peg head style.
My Oak and Spruce/Cedar version of this is complete with Celtic soundholes on etsy.com, waiting time is 7 months from order at the moment. Other timbers made need more time.
My demo version in French oak and spruce is shown, with Wooden violin pegs.
Each Mountain Dulcimer comes with Wittner or Banjo tuners as standard(wooden pegs are optional) Or alternatively a modern headstock with modern guitar tuners for ease of use, included in the price is a handmade wooden case Any models in stock can be seen on etsy.com
